Do you enjoy making things?  Renee Becker heads the St. Ann Sewing Club, whose volunteers are always looking for new members to help them make Baptismal bibs for our newest little parishioners, and lap robes and quilts for the homebound.  Sewing skills are not required!  The club meets Wednesdays from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. in the St. Ann Parish Office.

In 2013, a need for lap robes arose for the veterans at the home in Manteno, Illinois, and the Queen of Heaven Quilters formed.  From that first delivery of 12 veteran lap robes. that count has increased each year, and the ministry has collected other items and made trips down to Manteno to support our veterans with new greeting cards, Christmas cards, and other things that the residents would have a need for.  The group has also honored requests for pillows, bags, and other items.  They meet at St. James the 2nd Tuesday of the month from 1-3:30 p.m.  For more information, please call 708.757.2170.

The Prayer Shawl Ministry has lovingly knitted and crocheted items of comfort for countless recipients.  Prayer shawls, lapghans, receiving blankets, throws, hats, etc. numbering in the thousands have been mailed all over the country and provided to local agencies.  All are welcome, and no special skills are required!  The group meets every 3rd Tuesday from 1:00-3:30 p.m. at St. James.  FMI, please call 708.757.2170.
